Islamorada Day 1 Part 1

It was time for a vacation. If I don't see the ocean once a year I start to get ancy. Plus we needed some time to breath and get ready for a lot changing in our lives. I had never been to the Keys and neither has Super Man so we were excited to check it out. We hopped on a plane and landed in Miami. She welcomed us bright and cheerfully.

We grabbed a rental car and started our drive, driving in is really the way to go its so easy and beautiful!

I was in charge of navigating and I have to say only two turns from Miami to the Keys ...I nailed it!

We stopped for necessities.

And followed the aqua trimmed highway until we saw the ocean water peek out to greet us and then all of the sudden we were on the islands.

Things immediately started to slow down and the breeze picked up.

The views kept getting better and next thing we knew we arrived at our own little private island haven. www.casamorada.com

Followed the trail to the reception where some friendly ladies asked us to sit and placed some welcome treats in our hands.

With a tour of the property and I could feel my body relaxing...maybe it was the drink or maybe my surroundings. I didn't really care it was wonderful!

Our suite was cool and peaceful

We threw our bags down threw on swimsuits and headed for the water.

We walked around the amazing garden that made us feel like we were in another country. Everything was so quite and peaceful and each little nook was more beautiful than the last.

Met some friends then decided to commit to a location to lay around until dinner time.

We found a tree top cabana all to ourselves so we settled in for some naps and reading.

After dosing off I decided to take a dip in the pool to cool down a bit.

We had it all to ourselves so we floated until the sun started to go down...

After chatting with the friendly bartender and getting some recommendations on dinner we ran back up to the room to get ready for dinner and the sunset.

It's amazing how being in this place for only about 3 hours I already felt my muscles loosen, and peace surround me. I was already in love and I hadn't even seen the sunset.
To be continued tomorrow...

Happy Monday!

Get That Healthy Glow

I am new to the the primer world when it comes to makeup. I have tried the smash box kinds and I like them ok...I don't think they are magic or anything but the work well.

I have always been a fan of a little healthy dewy glow under your makeup without looking shiny so I thought I would try a couple of store bought ones for cheep to see of I had any luck and I am loving this one!

Loreal Magic Lumi light infusing primer. It helps my makeup stay on and it really give me a good highlighter under my eyes an on my cheek bones.

Not sure if this photo captures it but this is the end of the day and still a little brightness under my eyes. I have dark hereditary circles so I need all the help I can get.

You only need a tiny dot for your whole face.

It will last you forever.

You can see the highlighter here.

And fully blended in.

I really enjoy it and its inexpensive.

Have you tried any primers you like?

Finally a New Nightstand

I have been wanting a new nightstand for a really long time, I am actually embarrassed by the one I still had.

It was a keep it real one from almost college days. Well it finally broke and was basically balanceing against the wall for a couple weeks...classy!

I am a big fan of a manly nightstand on his side and a super feminine one on my side. I really love those mirrored ones you see everywhere but my budget wouldn't allow...so I went on the hunt. I wanted to keep it under 80 bucks. I also wanted it to be bigger and to have some extra storage.

I found this...

Half off at World Market ...yay! www.worldmarket.com

But I wanted it to have a little more glam and be just a touch more feminine for my side ;) so here we go...

I got a stencil and some paint and went to work. (Stencil from Michaels www.michaels.com

Make sure to use a glue stick on your stencil so it doesn't slide while you paint.

I also removed the handle and sprayed it metallic for a little more bling.

I painted the sides for a little something extra. This part was tricky and  I only had metallic spray paint so I sprayed it into a plastic dish that way I could paint it on. (spraying it on would have been way too messy)

Had to go fast it dried quickly.

Ta Da....a little more fancy!

Some detail shots...

And here she is all dressed up and settled in her new home.

Lets see the before again...

Now...

Much better!

Still not sure how I want the bottom. I have all this new space and nothing to fill it with. I am a one in, one out kind of person so I will have to find something.

I would also like some kind of cute old clock for her. It was a fun redo and in budget and it looks more green in these pictures but its really more blue gray. I love it and love the extra space ...my own little fancy side of the bed.

One more at night
