Leather and Lace

I had a whirlwind weekend a couple days ago. I drove from Tyler to Dallas to meet my girlfriends for a movie Saturday night and when I went to get out of the car it was quite chilly and I had forgotten my jacket at my moms. Luckliy there was a JCPenny right by the theater!! My favorite store so I popped in and found this red faux  leather jacket and I LOVE it!! So here is my outfit post on it just incase you need one ;)

I put it over a sweater dress trimmed in lace, added leggings and my favorite snake heels.

It has great details and is super soft.

Lace on the shoulders

It was in the 20's this morning so I added one more coat.

I love the collar

This fur trimmed coat was a gift from my mom a few years ago but you can find the red jacket here on sale now!

Slow and Steady Fall Wardrobe

I have a hard time deciding on clothes and I don't do much shopping I am more of a recycler. I am short and curvy so things are hard to fit my body. But I think all women have this problem, women's sizing is terrible and never consistent. I also feel guilty when I spend money on clothes even though Super Man encourages me to. So in an effort to improve my wardrobe and add quality not quantity while keeping a budget I am going to order a few pieces and keep it under $100 each paycheck. Here are my first few pieces...

Navy blazer ...I love the piping and I think it will be very neutral. I usually like this cut as well a little shorter in length.

Sheath dress with leather accent. Mine is actually all grey minus the red but they are both cute!

Booties ....I LOVE LOVE these and hope they are as cute on!!! They also come in a beautiful camel brown.

I will let you know how they work out I am not a huge online shopper but I am working on it ;)

Autumn Dreaming

Today's vacation day has been filled with a wonderful steady rainstorm complete with rolling thunder and a cool breeze. After having my coffee on the patio per the usual except this time I listened to the rain. Its interesting how after so much heat a little cool snap and the dancing drops of rain can make me completely content.

I know we will have several warm weeks left ahead of us but I couldn't help but start to dream of Autumn. Its a difficult time for me when it comes to putting my wardrobe together because its can be very warm one day and cool and crisp another.

The summer was great and I am always a little sad to see it go however, by the time the 100 degree temps have been around for a few weeks I am eagerly awaiting cooler temps that make me want to buy school supplies, cozy light weight sweaters, bright fall colored plants, flavored coffee creamer, soups and cozy fluffy socks.
Here are some realistic transitional pieces I would like to add to my wardrobe.

I hope you are having a lazy labor day and spending it the way you find most relaxing!

Cobalt Blue Breezy

I love cobalt blue its a striking color that looks good on anyone. I also love breezy dresses in the hot Texas summer. So when I saw this dress for $14.99 at TJ Maxx I was sold!!

Added some gold accessories, a skinny belt from Charming Charlie's, wedges from Target, Juicy sunnies and my Zink summer bag. Here is a close up of the belt and wedges.

Breezy and comfy but makes me feel fancy...summer perfection in my book!
