Caramel Apple Fantans

Sorry I was MIA last week, things have been a little crazy in my work world and I had a small surgery that turned out to be a bigger deal than anticipated. However, I am thankful for the time to rest and for my health. Now, there has been just a little bit cooler weather in the mornings so I am of course thinking of Fall and getting an itch to transition to a new season. Here is a Fall inspired recipe from Southern Living and requested by Super Man.

Caramel Apple Fantans

Here's the recipe

Start by making your dough

Mix in eggs

Next few ingredients

Wheat flour...I love this stuff

Mix

Time to knead

For a good 6 to 8 min

Then lightly spray a bowl so it can rise

Next get the filling ready

Chop the apples

Sauté filling

Next assemble... I enjoyed the pictures showing how to... cause this could be tricky.

Add a little butter

Starting to smell good

Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on the goodness.

Next start to cut and layer

Seriously?! At this point Super Man is doing the food dance around the kitchen.

Load into tins

Time to go in the oven

All done

While they cool... cook the caramel glaze

Oozy goodness

All done

Here is how the magazine shows them

And mine...Beauty shot

Yummo! Superman loved them and they called for pecans but I was out so I am sure that would be a great addition.

Have a great Monday!!

Floral Friday

Flower hunt...we went to check out a flower market this holiday weekend.

They have everything

Wall of hydrangea ...yes please

All colors of roses!

This is a special hybrid fancy rainbow rose

After much paroosing and trying to figure out how I could get them all in my car. I chose these beauties to go home with me.

Gave me a chance to break out my beautiful crystal rose bowl!

Aren't they amazing??? I love all the ruffles!

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

Gather for Brunch

We tried out a new brunch spot this weekend in downtown McKinney. I love brunch especially on the weekends. I like to dress up and linger over a relaxing meal with champagne ;) This spot is attached to a cute little shop with tons of rustic chic decor.

In love with this sofa

This wall decal

And these adorable white little duckies.

After a little shopping it was time for brunch.

They have byob (or byoc champagne for brunch mimosas )

The food was really good but I have to say a little cold. I am hoping it was just a fluke because the food tasted great. The enchilada casserole and the nutty French toast were the best!

I am not a huge buffett person usually because I don't eat that much, I feel wasteful and I would like my food super hot. I will give the place another chance because the atmosphere was perfectly adorable. One of those places that would be great for a rehearsal dinner or shower!

Rustic chic and charming. The owners were also delightful.

Delicious desserts served on sweet plates.

Gather in McKinney check it out!
