Weekend For My Soul

This weekend was filled with way too many events but we got through it and had a wonderful time! I am not a huge fan of no rest on the weekend I think it's important to recharge from the week. This weekend I realized its also good to recharge with a shot of everyone you love...and the exhaustion is worth it.

Started with. Going away party for my best friends sister who is in return like my sister, she is moving to Seattle and its hard on all of us! So what are we to do?? Drink and dance yup that should make us feel better ;)

So we did and we realized things have definitely changed since we used to go out but one thing hasn't ...how much fun my friends are!!

Then it was time to head to East Texas to celebrate my little sisters birthday so we packed up the dogs and drove through the random summer storms.

Till we arrived here... The entrance to the magical forest seriously how beautiful??

We sang and ate our selves silly. Then had a nice long visit with family it was good for my heart.

It was quite and late before we headed home to moms house.

I slept like a baby and woke up to great coffee and real bacon...

Yup sometimes I want the fat!! And my favorite blueberry muffins ... Thanks mommy!

We lounged around and visited while mom looked at the paper and the dogs begged for bacon.

Then we headed home but not with out a stop to see my favorite rose guy.

Love love!

The rest of the day was full of house cleaning, laundry and these little beauties Super Man found for me to redo.

Can't wait to turn them into something fun.

It was an eventful, exhausting good for the soul kind of weekend that makes your feel alive.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend too Happy Monday!

These blew my mind and so cheap!!

They were everywhere...

I was in love!

It was a rainy day but I loved the market.

Have a beautiful relaxing weekend don't forget to breath deep and have more than one cup of coffee ;)

One of My Favorite Things...

Detox water! It's so easy, it's pretty and it's good for you! All you need is a cucumber, a lemon and a few springs of mint.

I can usually get two pitchers out of these ingredients. I like more cucumber in mine than lemon. I only use half a cucumber and 1small lemon. Then once that pitcher is gone I leave the cucumber and lemon in it and refill. Now, I will replace the mint so it's fresh and strong.

See isn't it pretty? I drink it first thing in the morning. They say it will aid in digestion and keep your skin looking fresh and young...who doesn't need that? Plus I like how it looks sitting in my frig when I open the door.

I also like to use the mint in my tea...fresh stuff is the best! Sometimes I feel like I need to detox and refresh there is so much in the world today that is exhausting and draining and we should take the time to do good things for our bodies and our souls. This weekend I have lots of time scheduled with my sweet friends so I am looking forward to refreshing my humor and possibly my dance moves ;)

What do you like in your water??

My Legs Are So Soft

And it's thanks to this

Kiss my Face moisture shave...this stuff is awesome! I am not sure about you guys but I could never get a great shave and I tried all the fruity foamy kinds. This stuff is natural and wonderful! It lasts forever and I even think it makes my shave closer and my razor last longer. I did also learn recently that you shouldn't leave your razor in the shower because the water dulls the blade. I take it our of the shower now after I use it and it last so much longer...who knew??

Made with all good stuff and in the USA

Comes out more like a lotion than a foam

Goes on creamy and lathers up nice.

It really has changed my whole shaving experience, this is the un scented but it comes in lavender and that's my favorite. Then I smell good and have super soft stems. So come on ladies get ready to rock your short shorts in this heat ;)

I think this costs about $7-$8 and you can find it in the natural section of your grocery store. Kiss My Face makes many more products and you can find them here www.kissmyface.com

A Garden Party

I love any excuse to throw a good tea party and when one of my best friends had a new baby girl in her life I had the perfect one! I love outdoor dinning and I have always loved garden parties...hats, pretty dresses, cool breezes, fun beverages, flowers, friends and fancy dishes yup it's pretty much heaven to me! Well everything but the cool breeze it actually got pretty warm but everyone seemed to enjoy the shade.

So I bought my hat.

Got my dress

and started to get some decorations and menu items together. I decided on apple cinnamon, pecan monkey bread and I don't think I got a good picture of it. Breakfast pizza, fruit salad and yogurt parfaits.then there was the invitations.

I printed them very simple and tied some twin with lavender from my pots...hoping it would smell good when it arrived.

Then on too decor.

Prepped the Tyler flowers my Mom picked up on her way in

Set the scene

There were mimosas, cucumber water, and coffee.

I combined my grandmothers china and my moms china they happen to look lovely together

Guests started to arrive

It was a lovely day and my absolute pleasure to plan with my sweet friends Allyson and Meredith! I love the women that bless my life with their friendship and these are the moments we should find to celebrate and enjoy each others company.

When the hours feel like moments, you know you are celebrating with true friends.

Floral Friday

I am pretty much obsessed with all things floral and I love having fresh flowers around my house. It has become a must in my world. The make me feel relaxed and luxurious without spending a fortune. I don't spend $100 worth or anything. I usually spend about $20 bucks a month to keep them in the house all month. I by the inexpensive ones that last a long time and when I can, I cut them from my yard (that is the best way). I like to make sure I have some on Thursday night fresh and ready so we can enjoy them over the weekend. The same way I like to clean my house and make sure I make the bed so when I come home on Friday afternoon my house greats me and says "sit back, make a cocktail and relax it's the weekend!" So here's what I have going on for this weekend....

I think all of these cost about $8 and I have had the top and bottom ones for a week. Super Man brought home the middle ones last-night. I hope you have a wonderful relaxing weekend filled with slow days, cold drinks, late mornings, the cool side of your pillows, and lots of good food!!

Speaking of food I will post our ceviche recipe soon.

Cobalt Blue Breezy

I love cobalt blue its a striking color that looks good on anyone. I also love breezy dresses in the hot Texas summer. So when I saw this dress for $14.99 at TJ Maxx I was sold!!

Added some gold accessories, a skinny belt from Charming Charlie's, wedges from Target, Juicy sunnies and my Zink summer bag. Here is a close up of the belt and wedges.

Breezy and comfy but makes me feel fancy...summer perfection in my book!
